Boat Life Forum Rules

There are plenty of places to connect with boaters on the web. This site is different by design. If you are familiar with Facebook groups, then the purpose of the rules here will be clear.

  • This is a safe space to ask any question and wonder aloud.
  • To that end, all replies, comments, and posts must be civil. Boating is a small community, and you very well may meet your fellow forum members in the next anchorage or marina.
  • This forum is actively curated and moderated. The moderators reserve the right to remove any posts that do not foster a healthy learning environment.
  • Unsubstantiated claims and unreferenced “facts” will be questioned or removed. Only share what you know to be true and provide reference links for discussion.
  • Off topic and unrelated posts or replies will be removed immediately.
  • Have fun and let’s mess about in boats!

Believe me, my young friend, there is NOTHING–absolutely nothing–half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Simply messing…about in boats–or WITH boats… In or out of ’em, it doesn’t matter. Nothing seems really to matter, that’s the charm of it. Whether you get away, or whether you don’t; whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you’re always busy, and you never do anything in particular; and when you’ve done it there’s always something else to do, and you can do it if you like, but you’d much better not.
